@FutureMexicana Yeah, agreed! Mexicans love replacing the “correct” word with another random one that rhymes with it.

Here are some more examples (all very slangy):
vientos = bien / está bien
bambi = va
camarón = cámara (in the sense of "ok")
yo merengues = yo mero

I get the feeling this is slightly more common in CDMX... something I need to check, as I want the info on this site to be an accurate linguistic map of Mexican Spanish across regions.
