Whenever you want to tell someone to get in or get inside:
It's also VERY common when telling dogs to get inside:
— Nacho, métete, métete, Nacho… ¡Nacho, métete ya!
— Nacho, inside, inside, Nacho... Nacho get inside right now!
Or when being told to squeeze onto the metro:
— ¡Métanse, métanse! Sí caben.
— Come on, get in! There’s room for all of you.
✅ Very common in Mexican Spanish.
✅ Often said with a sprinkle of urgency.
✅ THE single most common dog command in Mexico (though don't quote me on that).
