This chunk is Mexican Spanish at its finest.
You see, I remember being taught that to play dumb in Spanish is hacerse el tonto and, well, that is indeed true for standard Spanish…
But in Mexico, you’re far more likely to hear hacerse güey, hacerse pendejo (more vulgar), or hacerse pato.
And you’ll often find that Mexicans just chop the ending off and say a simple no te hagas.
So yeah, this chunk normally translates well as:
👉 don’t play dumb / cut the act / don’t act like you don’t know
It’s basically what you say when someone’s clearly acting clueless on purpose.
💡 Hacerse güey / hacerse pendejo can also mean that someone’s slacking off or avoiding work, but no te hagas isn't used in this sense.

When someone knows exactly what’s going on but is acting like they don’t:

Don’t play dumb, you knew perfectly well.
