B1 (¡Ya le agarras la onda!)Used EVERYWHERE 🇲🇽Standard Spanish 😌
🧠 What it means
This one's a great little question tag you can whack onto a statement whenever you want to check if the person you're talking to is with you.
It works just like the English:
👉 you know?
💡 And just as in English, it can be used to prompt confirmation (not necessarily a full answer… but at least a sí, claro, ajá, exacto, etc.) AND as a kind of colloquial discourse marker.
🌪️ When to whip it out
When you want to check the person you're talking to is with you:
Está padre, pero como que le falta algo, ¿sabes?
It’s cool, but it’s kinda missing something, you know?
No es que me caiga mal, solo que es medio intenso, ¿sabes?
It’s not that I dislike him, it’s just that he’s kinda intense, you know?
And it can also be more of a filler / discourse marker:
Te juro que yo sí quería ir, ¿sabes? Pero me ganó el cansancio.
I really did want to go, you know? But I was just too tired.
Sí me dolió, ¿sabes? Pero pues ya pasó.
It did hurt, you know? But whatever, it’s over now.
⚠️ Tone
✅ VERY common in everyday spoken Spanish.
✅ Used throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
✅ Can sound a teeny bit fresa when overused.
