¿Sí o no?

(useful questions)
B1 (¡Ya le agarras la onda!)Used EVERYWHERE 🇲🇽Colloquial 🗯️

🧠 What it means

Don’t get confused here! This lil’ question isn’t really about choosing between yes or no. You see, Mexicans use it as a verbal elbow nudge, a bit like saying: 👉 Right? / Am I right? / You know it’s true. So yeah, it’s less about asking and more about getting the other person to agree/back you up.

🌪️ When to whip it out

Whenever you want to push for agreement or add punch to your point in a colloquial, informal sorta way:

Está buenísima la salsa, ¿sí o no?
The salsa’s amazing, don’t ya think?

You might also hear it at the beginning of a sentence:

Sí o no que te dije que iba a llover.
I told you it was gonna rain, didn’t I?

⚠️ Tone

✅ Ultra common in Mexico.

✅ Very informal.

✅ Can be playful, teasing, or even a bit pushy depending on how you say it.
