A2 (¡Vas bien!)Used EVERYWHERE 🇲🇽Standard Mexican Spanish 💀

Meanings / Uses:

👉 Watch out! / Be careful!

This one’s just a super Mexican way to warn someone of danger… be it an approaching car, a step, something falling, a wet floor, etc., etc.

It’s also used more generally to tell someone to be extra careful.

💡 It comes from back in the day when people used to empty their chamber pots out the window while shouting ¡Aguas! to warn people about the incoming stinky mess.

Examples:

¡Aguas! Viene un coche.
Watch out! There’s a car coming.
¡Aguas con el escalón!
Watch out for the step!
