This one’s as Mexican as Mexican can be. 😉 It just means: 👉 I get the feeling... / I think… / etc. (but with a very Mexican twist!) So yeah, it’s basically what you say when you have a hunch / gut feeling. 💡 Think of it as the colloquial Mexican version of siento que or creo que (in hunch / impression contexts!), and you’ll be gold.

Common patterns 🧱➡️ se me hace que + feeling / hunch Se me hace que algo anda mal. I get the feeling something’s wrong. Se me hace que ya nos cacharon. I get the feeling they’ve caught us. BUT there’s also another VERY useful (and slightly different!) pattern/use: ➡️ se me hace + adjective (find it + adjective in English) Se me hace raro. I find it strange. No se me hace muy difícil. I don’t find it very difficult.

Whenever you’re expressing a hunch or gut feeling:

Se me hace que va a llover.

I think it’s gonna rain.

Se me hace que ya se enojó.

I get the feeling he’s mad.

Se me hace que no va a venir.

I don’t think he’s coming.

When talking about how hard, easy, strange, etc., someone FINDS something:

La verdad, se me hizo pan comido.

Honestly, I found it really easy.

— Pues, ¿qué crees? Que no se me hace difícil.
— What do you find most difficult about working here?
— Well, you know what? I don’t actually find it that difficult.
