Me traes...

(transactional chunks)
A2 (¡Vas bien!)Used EVERYWHERE 🇲🇽Standard Spanish 😌

🧠 What it means

This is the go-to chunk in Mexico for ordering food or drinks when you’re seated at a table and have called a server over. Here’s what it means: 👉 Can you bring me…? / Could I have…? me traes → informal tú me trae → formal usted

🌪️ When to whip it out

Whenever someone’s serving you at a table, bar, etc. (i.e., you’re seated):

¿Me trae un agüita de jamaica, joven?
Could I get a hibiscus water, please?
¿Me traes otra chela, porfis?
Can I have another beer, young man?
Me trae un café, por favor.
Could I have a coffee, please?

It also works when you want someone to BRING something to your location:

¿Me traes mi botella de agua?
Can you bring me my water bottle?

⚠️ Tone

Me trae → perfect in restaurants when you want to be respectful.

Me traes → casual, friendly, with friends/family or informal settings.
