It’s basically the Spanish equivalent of:
👉 uh / um / err
💡 You might also hear the double: eh, eh…
Ella también… eh, eh… también tenía una relación con él. She also… err… was also in a relationship with him.
🌪️ When to whip it out
When you need a second to think:
Ehh… no estoy muy seguro, la neta.
Err… honestly, I’m not really sure.
No sé, eh… igual mejor no vamos.
I don’t know, uh… maybe we shouldn't go.
— ¿Quieres salsa roja o verde? — Ehhh… verde, por favor. — Do you want red or green salsa? — Uhhh… green please.
When you want to ease into what you’re about to say:
